Landmark documentary about town set for live event

Organisers of a brand new documentary about the UK’s most easterly town are to host a special event to mark its original premiere date.

The documentary ‘Life of Lowestoft’ which was filmed over the course of a year, celebrates and highlights the coastal town as it is set to be released later this year.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, the documentary was set to have its premiere on June 10 at the Marina Theatre, but this has now been postponed to a later date.

However film director Joshua Freemantle wanted to do something special to make sure the occasion was still remembered to celebrate all the hard work that’s been put into the project by Lowestoft Rising.

Mr Freemantle said: “To mark the original date of the premiere we will broadcasting a live stream across Facebook for all of our lovely supporters following our documentary.”

On Wednesday, June 10, at 7.15pm, the live stream will take place on the Life of Lowestoft Facebook page.

The stream will consist of a live Q and A with Mr Freemantle as well as an interview with Genevieve Christie, director of the First Light Festival, and a local historian.
